From the beginning of the next academic year, Chinese and Russian students
will be able to "upgrade" their language skills by attending two-week linguistic
courses in the country of the language they are studying. Elena Tikhonova, Head
of the International Department of BSU, and the delegation of Shandong Women's
University, headed by Vice Rector Li Ying, discussed this issue at a meeting at
BSU today.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues related to dual degree
programs. It should be recalled that Baikal State University has several
bachelor's degree programs, where Russian and Chinese students can receive two
diplomas in 4 years – from BSU and a Chinese university.
Shandong University offers its own platform for the implementation of these
programs. "This is the return visit of the Shandong delegation. Teachers and
staff of Baikal State University visited this university three months ago, and
we were glad to meet our Chinese colleagues on a return visit. In addition to
dual degree programs, our foreign colleagues have put forward a proposal for
cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence," commented Elena Tikhonova.
After the meeting, the BSU staff strolled around the university, visiting its
most wonderful places: the Media Center, the rector's reading room, the History
Hall, the Honor Board and the Distinguished Alumni Panel.
