The Center for Testing of Foreign Citizens in Russian as a Foreign Language at Baikal State University (CT RFL) is one of the official institutions of the Russian state testing system for Russian as a foreign language - TRFL.
The Center aims to meet the needs of foreign citizens in improving their Russian language skills, including business language skills, in the context of changing market needs and growing requirements for theoretical, practical and technical training of specialists in various spheres of activity.
The Centre shall ensure the organization and conduct of testing of foreign citizens and stateless persons residing in Russia or abroad.
In case of successful passing of the state test examinations, state certificates are issued.
The Center carries out its activities on the basis of the Department of Russian Language and Intercultural Communication of BSU.
Consultations and certification exams are conducted by qualified test-takers who have received diplomas in linguodidactic specialization in the field of testing in Russian as a foreign language.
The TRFL system includes:
Allows determining and certifying the level of proficiency in Russian as a foreign language regardless of the time and place of its study.
Tests of general proficiency are represented by six levels correlated with the European Language Proficiency Scale (CEF): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.
Allow to determine and certify the level of proficiency in Russian as a foreign language as a means of professional communication.
Allows you to determine and certify the basic level required to obtain Russian citizenship.
Allows to determine and certify the basic level for migrant workers required to obtain a work permit in the housing and utilities sector, trade and consumer services.
A successful test taker is a candidate who has completed each section of the test by at least 66%. At the same time, the passing score for one of the test sections may not be lower than 60%.
Candidates who do not pass the test (did not score the minimum required number of points on individual sections of the test) are given a Certificate indicating their results.
The certificate is valid for two years from the date of testing and allows the applicant to retake unsatisfactorily scored sections of the test (no more than two).
If the result is unsatisfactory in three or more sections of the test, the entire test is retaken.

The RFL Testing Center offers courses of preparation for testing under the program of additional education. The program is developed by the Center's test-takers and allows you to understand the requirements for candidates in terms of Russian language proficiency on the materials of standard tests.
To prepare for the Russian as a foreign language test, candidates can use a model test of the appropriate level.
Testing is conducted throughout the year by appointment.
