Second-year students of the International Relations course Daria Kharitonova, Kristina Semennikova and Karolina Kuklina took part in the International Conference "Modern Trends in Interdisciplinary Research" organized by the Baikal Institute of BRICS IRNTU. The peculiarity of the conference is that all participants made presentations in English.
"I made a presentation on "The image of a woman in the context of a terrorist threat," which we co-authored with Karolina Kuklina. Both students attended the conference from Russia and foreign countries – China, Mongolia, Indonesia, and African countries. I believe that participation in the conference is an important experience. It was interesting to listen to other speakers, since almost all the studies concerned changes in the modern world and were accompanied by a personal view of the speakers on the problem. Such a scientific and cultural exchange left extremely positive impressions," says Kristina Semennikova.
"The students appreciated the new format of performances. It was important to practice your English and listen to others. For international students, participation in such events is an important contribution to their own development. It is useful for them to practice public speaking skills, a foreign language and learn to express their thoughts in it. We hope that next year we will again be able to take part in the conference organized by the Baikal Institute of BRICS IRNTU," said the head of the Department of International Relations and Customs Affairs of BSU, Professor Alexander Shalak.
