Students of BSU took part in the Siberian regional scientific-practical
conference "Russia and Korea: History and Prospects of Cooperation-2025,"
dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Korea.
Participants from different cities presented informative reports on economic,
cultural and linguistic issues.
3rd year students of IMEMO BSU Maria Kachura and Alina Saidova spoke at the
conference for the third time. Maria analyzed the classification of toponyms of
the Korean language, and Alina prepared a report on the material of the film
"Empty House" directed by Kim Ki Duk, revealing the reflection of the crisis of
family values in Korean society.
The works were also prepared by 2nd year students of L-24-1 and PP-24-1
groups - Valeria Bozhenkova, Ellina Khaludorova and Mikhail Alferov. Their
research focused on the peculiarities of Korean opera, the creative path of the
"first of the great" dancer Choi Seung-hee, as well as the socio-economic
reasons for the transformation of the family model in the Republic of Korea.
Master's student Anna Fedosova presented the report "Koryo-saram: historical
memory and transformation of the cultural identity of Koreans in Russia as a
bridge between countries" (supervisor, associate professor of the Department of
International Relations and Customs Affairs I.V. Oleinikov) as part of the
section "Economics and International Relations."
The students noted that participation in the conference allowed them to
broaden their horizons, provided an opportunity to listen to lectures by highly
qualified orientalists and to better understand the potential for the
development of Russian-Korean relations.
