Employees and students of BSU took part in the online career guidance event "Presentation of Russian Universities in Latin America", organized by Russian Houses in Latin America, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Cuba and Novosibirsk State University.
This time, 12 universities from the Far East, Eastern and Western Siberia of the greatest interest to applicants from Latin American countries spoke on the Zoom online platform.
BSU specialist in educational and methodological work of the International Relations Department, Alyona Vershinina, and a 1st year master's degree student in Psychology from Ecuador, Montano Andrade Mariuxi Elisabeth, participated in the presentation.
They presented complex information both about the Baikal University and the prospects for education. Mariuxi in her native (Spanish) language vividly and emotionally told potential applicants about student life and study at BSU: “I have been studying in BSU for two years. And when I was offered to participate in the presentation of our university, I gladly agreed. After all, I have something to share with my compatriots - Siberia, Lake Baikal, Irkutsk and studying at one of the best universities in Russia - Baikal State University. I wish more young people from Latin America knew that living and studying here is exciting. And they also can come here and gain incomparable experience, unique knowledge and excellent prospects for building a successful international career.”
This event, as noted by Mikhail Kuz’min, Vice-Rector for International Relations, is part of the program agreed by Rossotrudichestvo to promote the Baikal State University itself in friendly countries, increase the number of foreign students and their geographical expansion. This year, the employees of the International Relations Department have already held large number of meetings for applicants from China, Turkey and Vietnam, which received an excellent response from foreign participants and representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo.
