competition for international applicants called “The ideas connecting countries.
Irkutsk projects”. Information regarding this contest is available on
the
magazine’s website.
As noted by Mikhail Kuz’min, Vice-Rector for International Relations of BSU,
the foreign nationals who decided to study abroad are guided by a host of
factors when choosing the country and educational institution. Among them, the
following factors can be distinguished: information about study abroad country,
ranking of the educational institution, recognition of its brand, career
opportunities in the home country, employment possibilities in the country of
study, cooperation between countries in the professional field of a future
graduate, as well as the prospects for implementation of joint projects when the
applicant returns to his homeland.
Considering that the Irkutsk Region is a region with the unique ecosystem,
rich history, developed infrastructure, industry and it has significant
scientific and innovative potential, Baikal State University has a huge number
of areas for international cooperation.
In this regard, the contest offers participants the opportunity to propose a
project of international cooperation between their country and the Irkutsk
region in science, education, industry, culture, transport, energy, etc. The
contestants independently determine the project theme, its content, as well as
goals, objectives and desired result. The project may be presented in the form
of a written essay or video presentation. The winners of the contest will get
discounts of 80, 60 and 40 % for study at BSU in the selected specialty, as well
