Elena Chabdarova, BSU public relations specialist and editor of the newspaper
"Baikal State University", met with international students in the reading room
of the BSU Central Scientific Library. Hongxin Pei from the city of Manchuria
(PRC) told about her plans, how she chose Baikal State University for her
studies. The girl studies linguistics (Russian as a foreign language) at the
International Faculty.
Three students of the preparatory faculty from the West African state of Togo
also came to talk to each other. The students from the Togolese Republic are
studying at BSU for the first time. Magloire Semowo, Elie Aggosu and Malame
Yakinambe told about life in their country, about their parents, about how they
miss their homeland and that they did not even know each other before coming to
Siberia.
Pei Hongxin loves studying at Baikal State University and has already made
progress in learning Russian. The same can be said about Magloire. Although he
will be studying for a bachelor's degree in a year, but unlike his compatriots,
who will become master's students in a year, he is already practically fluent in
Russian. The guy started studying the language at a one-month course in the city
of Yaroslavl, and having studied at BSU for only three months, he already speaks
Russian quite well.
In a conversation with the journalist, they shared their plans related to
higher education at BSU.
"I chose Baikal State University because I found out on the Internet that
Mongolian and Chinese students also study here. I will study well and hope to
successfully finish the management program in economics here," said Assogba
Semevo Magloire, a student of the BSU Preparatory Faculty.
