The meeting was held in the Rector's Hall of BSU. The following persons were
present: Evgeny Lishtovanny, PhD, professor, member of the Society, former head
of the Russian Foreign Ministry's representative office in Mongolia from Irkutsk
region, Anton Prosekin, deputy chairperson of the Society, Yuri Kuzmin,
professor of BSU, Ilya Oleinikov, associate professor of BSU. The Society of
Friends of Mongolia in Irkutsk was established quite recently - in the summer of
2024. To help build closer relations between the country of the eternal blue sky
and educational institutions of Irkutsk is also included in the goals of this
public organization. Today's visit is a familiarization visit to discuss joint
plans for the future.
According to Acting Rector, Doctor of Law, Professor Oleg Gribunov,
humanitarian relations with Mongolia is one of the promising areas of work. "In
addition, Baikal University is known in Mongolia, - said Prof. Gribunov, - in
1992 our university graduated from the Chairman of the Great State Hural of
Mongolia VI convocation (2020-2024). Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar". Vladimir
Sinichenko, Vice-Rector for Research and International Projects, told about the
results of the meeting: in addition to signing a cooperation agreement, the
parties decided to hold a joint conference on Mongolian studies, within the
framework of the international forum “Fundamental Past, Challenges of Modernity,
Integration and Development Strategies”, timed to the 95th anniversary of BSU.
