Specialists of the Student Affairs Department organized several orientation
tours for first-year students. They saw all the most significant locations of
the university: the colloquium, libraries, dining halls, botanical garden,
alumni gallery, the Memorial Wall and others. Having got an idea of the internal
navigation, the students shared their impressions.
Eduard Kuzminich said that he had chosen a university back in high school:
“We used to take classes in economics and law at BSU on Saturdays. I liked it
here, it was good, I even had some achievements”. The student noted the most
beautiful, in his opinion, objects: the Memorial Wall and the passages between
the buildings.
Victoria Fadkina enrolled in Tourism and Hotel Management. “I am a humanities
major by nature. At school I studied in the math class, and teachers took us on
excursions to Polytechnic. But BSU I liked it a bit more, I came here in 10th
grade, talked to the professors, who told me a lot of interesting things about
the university, told me about the opportunities for graduates. I closely studied
the website of the university. It showed that life here is boiling, that the
university is actively developing and keeping up with the time. Victoria really
liked the reading rooms, which were very bright and beautiful, with many
different books, and she also liked the cafeteria “because it smelled very
good”.
Freshmen will continue their orientation to the university, in early
September the Institutes will hold organizational meetings for them with the
involvement of representatives of administrative and student structures of the
university.
