Academic and scientific partners, as well as good friends of Baikal State
University from China, Mongolia and Vietnam, celebrated the Lunar New Year. In
2026, the celebration of the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival, Chunjie)
coincided with the Vietnamese holiday of Tet (First Morning Holiday) - they came
on February 17. Mongolian Tsagaan Sar (White Month) met a day later - February
18.
These holidays are the main ones in the culture of the countries of East and
Central Asia. They symbolize the end of winter, the awakening of nature and the
beginning of a new life cycle. Baikal State University sincerely congratulates
colleagues from partner universities, as well as their wonderful foreign
teachers and students with this bright celebration!
Rector of BSU Oleg Gribunov in his address emphasized the importance of
international unity: "We highly appreciate the warm relations that have
developed between our organizations over the years of fruitful work. We believe
that this year will bring us new joint professional and scientific victories. We
wish you successful implementation of large-scale projects, good health, peace
and prosperity to you and your loved ones!"
