Preparatory faculty for foreign students offers a comprehensive Russian language training program “Russian as Foreign Language (RFL)” from level A1 to B1.

Training programs are prepared for foreign citizens with any level of Russian language skills.

Course Goals:

  • preparation for the TRKI-I certification exam;
  • preparation for admission to various undergraduate programs at BSU;
  • introduction to the educational system of Russia;
  • immersion in Russian culture and traditions.

The University offers to the students of Preparatory faculty:

dorm room - accommodation for the entire period of study
Participation in educational, scientific, social, creative and sports student activities of the university
Certificate of training at the preparatory course of the Russian language course
Testing and receiving a state certificate confirming the level of Russian language proficiency

Russian as Foreign Language Programs

The main goal of the program is to form and develop practical Russian language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing).

Upon arrival for training, students take an entrance test to determine their level of Russian language proficiency. In accordance with the test results, terms and goals of training, students are assigned to groups.

Particular attention is paid to the following aspects:

  • fluent communication;
  • listening comprehension;
  • written language;
  • vocabulary expansion;
  • Russian grammar;
  • phonetics (as part of daily lessons);
  • introduction to the cultural and linguistic identity of Russians;
  • learning about Russian traditions and peculiarities of Russian behavior.

Curriculum fields

The Department of International Studies of BSU implements various programs of study in the following areas ('fields'):

  • linguistic,
  • economic,
  • cultural.

Duration of the course

Curricula are prepared for mastering the Russian language in 1 year (September-June).

Special programs for trainees coming for short-term training (6 months) and long-term training (1.5 and 2 years) are also practiced.

Disciplines of the programs

Students of the Preparatory Faculty study the Russian language, as well as the subjects of their choice for further education or industrial activity: literature, history, social studies, mathematics, computer science, country studies, cultural studies, etc. The majority of the one-year preparatory program is the Russian language course. The major part of the one-year preparatory program is the Russian language course. Special attention is paid to the study of scientific style of speech in the chosen field of study.

The course language

Training is carried out in Russian.
