The summer language internship of students of the International Faculty of BSU at Wuhan University has come to an end. This trip was made possible thanks to cooperation with one of the reliable foreign partners of BSU - an authoritative university, which is one of the ten best educational institutions in China. During ten busy days (from August 16 to 25), freshmen studying in dual diploma programs consolidated their knowledge in the natural language environment.
The internship program combined a deep academic workload and familiarity with the culture of the country. Every day of the students was filled with:
- Many hours of practical training in Chinese
- interactive master classes from native speakers;
- excursions to historical sites and acquaintance with the life of modern central China.
The result of the trip for students was not only official certificates of completion of the program, but also self-confidence. Practice in everyday situations - in transport, cafes and on the streets of the city - helped the guys speak freely and without embarrassment.
"It is one thing to study vocabulary and tones in university classrooms, and quite another to put them into practice in a live dialogue with local residents. We broke the internal barrier, that's for sure!" - the participants of the trip share their impressions.
BSU expresses its sincere gratitude to the management and teaching staff of Wuhan University for the high level of internship organization, colossal patience and warm hospitality, which helped Irkutsk students quickly adapt to the new environment.
For students of the International Faculty, this trip was an excellent warm-up to the main challenge. Ahead of the children is the continuation of their studies at BSU, in-depth study of grammar and preparation for full-fledged education in China to obtain joint diplomas.
