The solemn meeting on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Baikal State University was held at the Irkutsk Academic Drama Theater named after N.P. Okhlopkov.
The holiday brought together university workers, students, veterans, graduates, representatives of authorities at all levels, law enforcement agencies, and industrial partners.
The anniversary meeting was opened by the rector of BSU, Professor Oleg Gribunov. He congratulated the audience and noted that for all 95 years the Baikal State University has maintained fundamental academic principles, which helps to adequately respond to any modern challenges.
More than 60 employees of BSU were awarded with awards of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, awards of the Irkutsk Region and the Legislative Assembly, the city of Irkutsk and the Duma of the regional center.
The words of greeting from the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation were conveyed by the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Olga Petrova. The awards were presented by the Federal Inspector for the Irkutsk Region Alexei Kalinin.
On behalf of the Governor of the Irkutsk Region, Georgy Kuzmin congratulated the university workers. The presenters read out warm words for the staff of their native university from a telegram sent by the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Yakubovsky.
Valery Khalanov, Advisor to the General Director ofthe State Corporation "Rostech", greeted the guests. He presented the rector of BSU Oleg Gribunov with a Gratitude from the State Corporation.
Friendly congratulations sounded from and. about. Consul General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Irkustka Mr. Sun Tsuanjiang. Consul General of the Consulate General of Mongolia in Irkutsk Mrs. Batsukh Ichinkhorloo. Especially to participate in the celebrations, a large delegation from Mongolia arrived in the city on the Angara - representatives of the Association of Mongolian graduates of BSU of different years. University employees who contributed to strengthening Russian-Mongolian cooperation were awarded awards.
Another graduate of BSU, First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk Region Kuzma Aldarov conveyed congratulations to the employees and students of the university from the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk Region.
Deputy Mayor Tatyana Edelman presented the rector with a gift from the administration of Irkutsk and congratulations from the head of the regional center.
The gratitude of the Chairman of the Duma of Irkutsk for his contribution to the formation of the region was conveyed by the Deputy Duma Alexander Druzenko. He also remembered his student years at BSU and thanked the teachers for their start in life.
The team received congratulations from the association of graduates of BSU, President of the Union of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Eastern Siberia Alexei Sobol; Maria Malysheva, Head of the Federal Treasury Department for the Irkutsk Region; East Siberian Transport Prosecutor Denis Avdeev.
Representatives of the universities of the regional center also came to congratulate their colleagues. The words of greeting sounded from Evgeny Kolupaev - a representative of the Irkutsk Regional Historical and Memorial Museum of the Decembrists and a participant in the program "Heroes of the Angara Region" Evgeny Kudryavtsev.
The solemn meeting was not a simple celebration of the anniversaries, the BSU team prepared a large creative program - more than 150 people took part in it. Both students - members of the associations of the Center for Creativity and university employees worked on the program. The teaching staff, headed by rector Oleg Gribunov, performed their concert number "Waltz of Victory" on the big stage.
