Overview

Program Forest Management is a synthesis of Engineering, Science, Economy and Management in the context of the relevant professional sphere. We know how to combine laws of forest nature and principles of economy.

If you care about the nature and the future of forests, if you want to save them for future generations, Forest Management is your occupation. Our highly-qualified lecturers will tell you about types of forests and their inhabitants, reforestation and tree surgery, log felling, forest fire fight, log industry, and most importantly, they’ll teach you rational timber exploitation. You will also learn how to put forest spirit into urban parks and gardens, grow flowers and bushes. Besides, you will acquire the relevant knowledge of Forestry legislation, economy and management in timber industry, and organizing wood processing.

In our well-equipped forestry lab you will have a chance to apply the theory to practical work. Yearly summer internships and apprenticeships in the local Botanic Garden and forest divisions, as well as at forest protection organizations, will help you get the necessary work experience.

To make your studies even more interesting and comprehensive, there are excursions to forest museums, the Botanic Garden, Baikal National Park, Game Management Museum, and timber industry enterprises. You will also have a chance to take part in the yearly “World Arbor Day”.
