The international student scientific and practical conference "Russia and the
Countries of the Asia-Pacific Region: Dialogue of Cultures" gathered linguists
from 12 different countries at Baikal State University. Representatives from 6
leading Russian universities in Irkutsk and the Trans-Baikal Territory.
The participants discuss issues of modern intercultural communications,
problems and prospects of international education, topical issues of regional
studies and cooperation between Russia and the Asia-Pacific countries.
This is the twelfth time that the International Faculty of BSU has organized
this large-scale conference. The Acting Rector, Doctor of Law, Professor Oleg
Gribunov addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He noted that Baikal
State University is a place of attraction for young scientists, as evidenced by
the representative student event. "The conference that we are holding today is
more relevant than ever, it is in line with the strategy of Russia's state
foreign policy. The topics of the reports that will be heard today concern every
young person, so let the live communication be constructive. I sincerely wish
you, dear researchers, success."
Dean of the International Department, Head of the Department of Russian
Language and Intercultural Communication, PhD, Associate Professor Anna
Litovkina added that over the 12 years of this conference, more than 1,000
students from 20 countries have participated in it. "Modern scientists are
interested in issues of comparative research in the field of language, economics
and intercultural communications; modern teaching methods and technologies in
Russia and the countries of the Eastern region. Our conference stimulates
further research and deepens scientific collaboration."
