Thematic meetings on Russian literature “The Life and Work of I. S. Turgenev” were held at the International Faculty for international students studying at the Department of Russian Language and Intercultural Communication. The events were held within the framework of the academic disciplines “Russian Literature” and “Interpretation of Fiction Text”.
On the eve of the 79th anniversary of the Victory Day on May 7, BSU hosted the “St. George Ribbon” action with the laying of flowers at the Wall of Remembrance in honor of students and faculty members, war veterans who died in World War II.
On the eve of the Great Victory Day, students from all universities of Irkutsk, including Baikal University, lined up near the eternal flame to honor the memory of their ancestors and take part in a patriotic action: “Flame of Pride for Victory”. The students laid flowers at the memorial and released white balloons symbolizing millions of lost lives. But not everyone was honored with such an opportunity.
Thematic meetings dedicated to traditional Russian culture and folk arts and crafts of Russia were held at the Department of International Studies. Foreign students studying at the Department of Russian Language and Intercultural Communication study not only Russian language, but also Russian literature and culture.
Dean of the International Faculty of Baikal State University Anna Litovkina and teacher of Russian as a foreign language Ekaterina Nepomnyashchikh visited the Chinese city of Manchuria (Inner Mongolia Province). The business visit took place at the invitation of the Chinese side. BSU representatives became members of the commission for certification of Chinese bachelors and masters.
