Baikal State University student's project won at the All-Russian Tourist Conference 2024

The annual event for everyone who loves the romance of hiking tours was a success for Konstantin Kuzor, a third-year student of the Institute of Justice. Several contests were held at once during the Tourist Conference. As part of the direction on the development of new routes “Opening new horizons” Konstantin made a description of the possibilities of the Eastern Sayan Mountains and a new route to Shumak. The project was defended online. The prize fund was unified, the amount of the cash prize was awarded depending on the needs of the project. Konstantin and the student tourist club “Zodiak” received 97,000 rubles, which will be spent on new equipment for the club. In total, more than a thousand projects were submitted to the contest, with only three hundred and fifty winning cash prizes.

“I have been hiking for 12 years. It is good that there are like-minded people around, mostly students like me who are interested in exploring new routes,” says Konstantin Kuzora, chairman of the BSU student tourist club ‘Zodiak’.

All-Russian Tourist Conference is an annual event. The number of participants across Russia is not limited. The main thing is to register your group of 8 people and make out your route. Also during the Tourist Conference there is a competition of squads, with the compulsory keeping of a video diary, recording compliance with the rules during the route.
