The university from Shenyan is one of the first eastern partners of the Baikal State University. Relations between educational organizations began almost 30 years ago.

Olkhonsky district started the International Youth Forum "Baikal." More than 600 young people from 46 regions of Russia and 15 countries gathered on the shores of the sacred lake. The forum program includes lectures, meetings and dialogues with famous people, protection of student projects.
In August, BSU students go on summer recreation: in the village of Arshan, in the city of Gorno-Altaysk, where they are waiting for the exciting routes of Altai and the waterfalls of the Eastern Sayan Mountains, in the Olkhonsky district.
