Baikal International Youth Forum closing ceremony took place

On the territory of Mukhor Bay, on the shore of the Maloye Sea, the closing ceremony of the Baikal International Youth Forum was held on August 15, attended by Igor Kobzev, Governor of the Irkutsk Region. Within the framework of the forum closing, the results of two grant contests were announced: the All-Russian contest of youth projects of Rosmolodezh and the regional grant contest of the Ministry of Youth Policy of the Irkutsk region. Thus, 59 young people received grant support totaling 14 million rubles.

- Our forum once again proved that young people have a lot of projects and plans that are aimed at improving life in different areas - ecology, entrepreneurship, creativity, social work, development of various communities and many others. I am sure that during these days on Baikal the guys have really made friends, exchanged ideas, gained a lot of experience and energy for further work, - said Igor Kobzev.

This year, 600 young people from 52 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and nine countries participated in the forum. These are the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of India, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

- We strengthened the program by inviting well-known speakers from various fields of activity, so the forum turned out to be useful and rich. Tomorrow is the final day, and the participants will go back to their home countries to pass on the knowledge and experience they have gained here. I am sincerely grateful to my colleagues for their efforts, and to the participants for their emotions and ideas, it was exciting,” said Margarita Tsyganova, Minister of Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region.

The program of the event consisted of two main blocks: project and educational. In the framework of the project block, the participants developed socio-political, socio-economic, cultural, tourist and environmental projects. These initiatives were highly appreciated by experts and were formalized into project applications for participation in grant competitions. The educational block included lectures by leading experts, master classes, discussions and open dialogues, which contributed to the comprehensive development of the participants and the expansion of their professional and personal horizons.

During the forum, there were 4 successful educational programs in 4 areas: tourism, entrepreneurship, youth communities and dialogue of cultures. Within the framework of the directions, meetings were held with the leading speakers of the country, successful entrepreneurs and participants of the special military operation, as well as the forum participants attended open dialogs, where the participants could get answers to their questions. There was also an open dialog with the Governor of the Irkutsk Region Igor Kobzev.

The Forum was organized by the Government of the Irkutsk Region represented by the Ministry of Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region under the patronage of the Office of the President Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. The International Youth Forum “Baikal” has been held since 2008 to create an effective mechanism for inclusion of young citizens in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the subjects of the Russian Federation and foreign countries.
