BSU students took part in the Russian Student Parade
The Russian Student Parade was held in Irkutsk on September 14. 770 activists of Baikal State University took part in the solemn procession along the main streets of the city. Traditionally, students of our university are distinguished by their large number, brightness and creativity.

The first organizational meeting with postgraduate students of BSU was held
The organizational meeting with full-time postgraduate students was held by the First Vice-rector-Rector for Scientific Work of Baikal State University, Professor Oleg Gribunov. He noted that the main task of each graduate student is to write and defend a PhD thesis, and the university has all the opportunities for this. Today the university has three dissertation councils in five areas of study: the council for economic sciences - one major, the council for technical sciences - two majors and the council for legal sciences - also two majors. In addition, the uniqueness of BSU lies in the fact that the university offers a symbiosis of majors that complement each other.

Project-based learning at Baikal State University began in the new academic year. Students of the Department of Construction Economics and Real Estate Management conducted field research on the quality of the urban environment as part of the course “Environmental Design”.

Maria Vasilkova, a member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the Irkutsk region, a member of the Duma Committee on Industry and Trade, and a former graduate of the university, visited Baikal State University. She talked to the university staff, young scientists, students and teachers.

Freshmen meet the university
Specialists of the Student Affairs Department organized several orientation
tours for first-year students. They saw all the most significant locations of
the university: the colloquium, libraries, dining halls, botanical garden,
alumni gallery, the Memorial Wall and others. Having got an idea of the internal
navigation, the students shared their impressions.
