BSU Rector Viktor Ignatenko celebrated his anniversary
Viktor Ignatenko, Rector of Baikal State University, celebrates his 65th
birthday. Directors of the university's institutes, heads of departments,
colleagues and friends, as well as representatives of the authorities came to
congratulate him and present him with gifts in the Academic Council meeting
room: Igor Kobzev, Governor of the Irkutsk Region, Alexander Vedernikov,
Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk Region, Ruslan Bolotov,
Mayor of Irkutsk, Elena Apanovich, Deputy Minister of Education of the Irkutsk
Region.
BSU students celebrated Chinese New Year
A quest dedicated to the celebration of the New Year according to the Eastern calendar was held at the Khudozhestvenny Center. The New Year according to the Eastern calendar is celebrated for fifteen days. In 2024 it is celebrated from February 10 to 24. It is often unofficially called "Lunar New Year". New Year is celebrated as a public holiday in Southeast Asian countries.
BSU international students showed good results in darts and billiards
Foreign students of BSU became prizewinners in the First Inter-University Championship among students of the People's Republic of China and Mongolia in darts and billiards.
"Turn to the East" was discussed by BSU international students
The round table "Turn to the East: One Year Later" was held in the Scientific
Library of the V.G. Rasputin State University. The event was attended by
students of Baikal State University Daria Kharitonova and Arina Zhambalova, who
presented their reports analyzing the research activities of the Valdai Club and
scenarios of Baikal Siberia development made during the Baikal Economic Forum.
The reports of Baikal State University representatives were highly appreciated
by experts from the Institute of Geography of the Siberian Branch of the Russian
Academy of Sciences. Following the presentations, a free discussion was held,
where the audience expressed their opinions on Russian foreign policy in the Far
East and South Asia.
BSU is going to develop partnership with China - SCO Trade and Economic Institute
On January 25, Baikal State University received a delegation from the
China-SCO Institute of Commerce and Economics (CSCO IET, Qingdao). The BSU
administration discussed with the Chinese colleagues the prospects of
cooperation in the implementation of joint educational programs, as well as
scientific and career guidance activities.
