Awarding diplomas to graduates of the Department of Sociology and Psychology
In an upscale ambience, graduates of the Department of Sociology and Psychology received their diplomas of higher education; diplomas were awarded to bachelors and masters in the specialty of "Social work", masters in the specialty of "Psychology" and specialists in the specialty of "Psychology of official activity". This year, the topics of the final research papers were quite diverse and, as always, relevant. Many materials were prepared on the orders of institutions and organizations, so the results obtained were the most appreciated. The department is proud that this academic year 37% of graduates received diplomas with honors. It is gratifying that the rector of Baikal State University, Professor Viktor Ignatenko, personally presented them.
An excursion to Lake Baikal was organized for foreign students of BSU
Get acquainted with Russian culture and the beauty of the unique lake. Foreign students from the Baikal State University visited Baikal. The Department for International Activities organized for them a trip to the open-air museum "Taltsy" and the village Listvyanka, located on the shore of Lake Baikal.
The study of the history and economy of Mongolia continues at the Baikal University
The Baikal State University has a deep tradition of training specialists for neighboring Mongolia and scientific research in the field of Mongolian studies. On June 22, the presentation of the book of the Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of World Economy and Economic Security Jargal Tagarov "Mongolia and the History of the World Economy" took place at the Center for the Study of Mongolia of BSU. Jargal Tagarov (1952-2020) is a talented scientist and teacher, he devoted his life to the study of the world economy, and the countries of the East and the trade of Kyakhta, his entire career took place within the walls of our university.
The final research paper defense continues at BSU
At the Baikal University was held the final research paper defense of masters. Future managers of the International Management direction presented their papers for evaluation by the qualification commission, which included heads of large commercial companies with experience in interacting with foreign partners. The importance of this program is that the training takes place in English. Students of this direction can simultaneously receive both professional qualifications and raise the level of foreign language proficiency.

After a break related to the pandemic, the Center for Testing Russian as a Foreign Language for Citizens of foreign countries has resumed work at Baikal State University. Similar centers exist in many Russian universities. The main testing center is located at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN).
