BSU teachers were awarded with certificates of professional development

The awarding of certificates to Baikal State University employees who completed the advanced training course "English for Higher Education Professors" took place at BSU. In total, from March to November, the teachers took 100 hours of courses. Nine teachers and heads of departments took the course. The lecturers of the course - Anastasia Melgunova, head of the BSU Department of Foreign Languages for Professional Purposes, and Ekaterina Bobrova, lecturer of the BSU Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, taught the students professional English for academic work. The course included various aspects: working with vocabulary on various economic topics, grammar, phonetics, listening, reading, writing, preparing and presenting a presentation, conducting a conversation and participating in a discussion. The ultimate goal of the course is to develop the skills necessary to communicate with foreign colleagues and students, to prepare and conduct classes in English.

Delegation of the University of Shanxi Province was welcomed at BSU

Vice-Rector for International Relations of BSU Mikhail Kuz’min, Dean of BSU International Faculty Anna Litovkina and Head of BSU International Relation Department Elena Tikhonova met today with the delegation of Financial and Economic University of Shanxi Province of the People's Republic of China, headed by the head of the group of study abroad, Mr. Huang Zhifu.

Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Irkutsk visited Baikal State University

The delegation of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Irkutsk headed by the Consul General, Mr. Li Hai met with the management of Baikal State University. The acquaintance began with a dialog in the conference room of the rectorate. The main topic of the conversation was Russian-Chinese cooperation in education.

BSU will develop cooperation with Liaoning University

Baikal State University welcomed a representative delegation from Liaoning University of Shenyang (China) headed by Vice-Rector Prof. Shi Baodong. The Chinese delegation also included Ma Shuang, Head of the International Department of Liaoning University, Jin Xudong, Director of the Department of Archaeology and Museology of the Historical Institute, Qiu Yi, Deputy Head of the International Department, and Zhang Dunhui, Head of the Department of Confucius Institutes.

BSU teachers were awarded with letters of appreciation

Two Chinese language teachers of the International Department of the International Faculty of Baikal State University, Wang Ying and Sun Ming Hui, were awarded letters of appreciation by the Main Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Irkutsk Region.

They spent two days accompanying the delegation of the Department of Public Security of Liaoning Province of China during its stay in the Irkutsk region, visiting the regional Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and working as interpreters.

"It is great that our university is noticed, we are approached with requests to help us organize translation," says Anna Litovkina, the Dean of the BSU International Faculty.
