The cities of Yerevan and Dilijan in the Republic of Armenia hosted the "Vorotan" international expert forum to exchange the views on the problems of the region. The event was supported by the A.M. Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Foundation. Ekaterina Rumyantseva, a master's student of Baikal State University, majoring in International Relations, was competitively selected to participate in the forum.
Scientific and practical conference "Transformation of Public-Legal Institutions in Modern Russia" started its work today at Baikal State University. According to Svetlana Praskova, Director of the Institute of State Law and National Security of BSU, the theme of the conference was outlined back in February and will touch upon general theoretical issues in legal sciences.
The third Baikal Legal Forum started its work today at Baikal State University. It is dedicated to the thirtieth anniversary of legal education at BSU. More than 350 legal practitioners and theorists from 26 regions of the Russian Federation, including scientists from Mongolia, Tajikistan, Belarus will take part in the forum.
Last week a team of BSU students traveled to Port Baikal to take part in a cultural and educational project - a creative performance "We Love, Preserve, Create". This project is dedicated to the memory of writer Valentin Rasputin, who lived and created his works here, near Lake Baikal.
Studenthood is the time when young people leave their parents' home. Often they go to neighboring regions or even other countries to get an education. This is where interethnic relations arise. Students find themselves in a different environment that may or may not accept them. Mikhail Kuzmin, Vice-Rector for International Activities of Baikal State University, told us about the role of interethnic relations in the student environment.
