The delegation of Baikal State University headed by Oleg Gribunov, first vice-rector - vice-rector for scientific work of BSU, and Mikhail Kuz’min, vice-rector for international relations, is currently participating in the visit of the Governor of the Irkutsk region to the People's Republic of China.
On June 14 in Beijing, members of the BSU delegation presented the University at the Beijing Exhibition Center as part of the opening of the Irkutsk Region Days in China.
The delegation members also held negotiations with Beijing University of Foreign Economics and Trade (BUFET), which is one of the most long-standing and reliable partners of Baikal State University.
Starting from 2015 BSU jointly with Beijing University of Foreign Economics and Trade has been implementing popular double degree programs in Management, Economics and Commerce. Russian students study Chinese and have a unique opportunity to get two prestigious diplomas - BSU and PWET - in 4 years of study at the dual degree programs.
Within the framework of the meeting the representatives of the universities discussed the expansion of training areas under the programs of dual degree and inclusive education, organization of summer and winter schools for Chinese and Russian students, training of highly qualified personnel in scientific specialties of dissertation councils, as well as agreed to hold the annual conference of the Association of Russian-Chinese Economic Universities on the basis of BSU in 2025, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the university.
Mikhail Kuz’min, Vice-Rector for International Relations of BSU, said that Baikal and Beijing Universities are among the founders of the Association of Russian-Chinese Economic Universities, established in 2013. The main goal of the association is to create an educational and scientific platform for higher education institutions of Russia and China, joint work on educational and scientific projects at the international level, improving the efficiency of work, exchange of experience and academic exchange. Beijing University of Foreign Economics and Trade is the coordinator of Chinese universities - members of the association.
As a result of the meeting, the universities signed an agreement significantly expanding the areas of joint activities of the two universities.
