Galina Skryabikova shares her impressions about the trip:
- The trip to the North Korea was interesting and informative. From the first
days of the program our delegation was immersed in the unique atmosphere of this
country. We visited Kim Il Sung University, where we could familiarize ourselves
with the educational system and approaches to teaching students. We visited the
Pyongyang Pedagogical Institute, where we were told about the training of future
teachers and the importance of the teacher's role in shaping society. We learned
about teaching methods and how the institute strives to incorporate modern
approaches into the educational process. It was amazing to see how the state
actively supports young people, creating conditions for their development and
education. Our delegation visited Sondowon Camp, located on the shore of the Sea
of Japan (East Sea) near the city of Wonsan. We were able not only to get
acquainted with the camp infrastructure and learn how the process of working
with children is organized, but also fully lived one day as a participant of the
camp shift with early rising to the horn, exercises on the seashore, camp
activities, master classes and evening creative event. In addition, we visited
Masikryon ski resort, where children learn to ski during winter camp shifts.
The trip to North Korea left me with vivid impressions and broadened my
horizons. I gained valuable experience that opened a new perspective on
understanding culture and education in North Korea.
