Language skills are only a part of higher linguistic education.
A foreign graduate of Baikal University should not only speak Russian well, but also know the cultural peculiarities and historical milestones of Russia's development.
For this purpose the Department of International Activities with the participation of the International Faculty of BSU prepared a trip to the architectural and ethnographic museum “Taltsy” for students from Shenyang Polytechnic University.
The participants of the BSU language school got acquainted with the history of Eastern Siberia, visited the exposition of the Ilimsk stockade, the interiors of old houses, listened to the story about the initial pre-revolutionary education, and also learned many new words and concepts.
At the end of the two-hour journey into the depths of history, students and teachers from the Celestial Empire for the first time in their lives rode on Russian swings, walked on stilts, tasted the dishes of Siberian cuisine and took pebbles from the bank of the Angara River.
