Mikhail Kuz’min, Vice-Rector of BSU, told about the main achievements of BSU
in international relations. In 2023, the geography of foreign citizens in Baikal
State University has significantly expanded. First of all, due to the enrollment
of students from Togo, Cote d'Ivoire, Chile, Cuba and Colombia. The number of
students from the People's Republic of China has also increased significantly.
Their share in the enrollment of 2023 exceeded 67%.
According to Mikhail Kuz’min, vice-rector for international relations of BSU,
"The main achievements of 2023 are the expansion of cooperation with China,
India and African countries, the university's entry into the global rating UI
Green Metric, significant strengthening of positions in the ratings Interfax,
RIAC and RAEX, as well as receiving the award of the Association of East
European Universities in the field of internationalization of higher education
in the nomination "Recruitment of foreign students"".
It is important that in 2023, 11 international agreements were concluded with
Chinese partners, which are primarily aimed at implementing joint educational
programs and opening joint scientific and educational structures. BSU
significantly expanded its presence in India by participating in the
organization of the Russian-Indian Center for Education Promotion, organizing
work with Indian applicants and signing five international agreements. The
university also managed to increase the profitability of international relations
and expand its representation in international organizations and
associations.
