The brightest and most long-awaited event of Baikal State University was held yesterday in the courtyard of the university - the Student Ball. The theme of the event, which summed up the results of the outgoing academic year 2022/2023, was "Student movement in the movies of Leonid Gaidai”. The Department of Student Affairs and the Center for Creativity of Baikal State University did everything to make the ball the brightest memory of the participants and visitors.

From 3 p.m. the familiar music from the films of our famous countryman was heard from the loudspeakers attracting people into the courtyard. The show band "Mimino" performed musical compositions, all visitors could be photographed by a specialist of Photobox38 and immediately receive for memory their colored photos. During the event a huge amount of people lined up to the photo area.

All visitors enjoyed free cotton candy, fruit, some varieties of lemonade and other refreshments. Some hurried to take seats in the improvised auditorium.

And finally, the head of Baikal State University, Victor Ignatenko, appeared on the stage and announced the start of the student's ball. Operation "Ball" has started. University students dressed in the fashion of 1960-1980's showed their outfits on the podium to the music "And the town drank spicy cocktails" to the applause.

Ludmila Sanina, head of the Science Department of the Baikal State University, announced the winners of the first nomination “Intellectual of the Year”. Egor Grigoriev, an active member of the student scientific community, who has eight scientific publications, became the winner. Egor participated in nine scientific conferences and nineteen Olympiads.

The winners of the nomination "Creative Personality of the Year" were three students at once: Daria Potakueva, Diana Shamsemekhametova and Yan Mikityuk. Vadim Bykov and Ekaterina Vedmanova won in the nomination "Sportsman of the Year".

There are great international students study in BSU. These guys are active, always ready for cooperation, cheerful and smart, and also promote BSU brand abroad. Elena Tikhonova, the head of the International Department of BSU, awarded diplomas of winners to three students - Ding Xianwen and Ne Xianyi (PRC), as well as Ngouadi Ngoma Fred (Republic of Congo). Student Ne Xianyi was awarded for achievements in academic and scientific activities of the university.

Two diplomas of winners were awarded in the category "The Group leader of the Year". They were Valeria Kondratieva and Khadi Badiev. Timur Vakhmetinov and Zoya Bazhenova who became the best community leaders in the "Community Leader of the Year" nomination. The winner in the nomination "Chairman of the Board of students of the Institute, the Faculty of the College" became a student Ekaterina Punicheva.

Polina Savenko became “The Media Leader of the Year” and Valeria Khadukova became “The Professional of the Year”. “The Young Family of the Year” award went to husband and wife Nikita and Alisa Savchenkovs. The best student associations of the year were the Club for the Happy and Resourceful and the Intellectual Games Club. The student parliament of BSU College received an honorary diploma in the nomination "Student Council of the Year".

Karina Fokirova, a second-year journalism student, became the winner in the nomination "Youth Media Space of the Year: Radio Show". The winners in the category "Youth media space of the year: social media account" were the student parliament of BSU College and the student council of the Institute of Management and Finance. Polina Savenko, a third-year student of the "Journalism" program, won in the category "Youth Media Space: Video-report". Alina Navasardyan, a third-year student of the "Journalism" program, won in the category "Youth Media Space: Media Project" with her media project "Museum Stories". Another third-year journalism student Vladimir Izmestjev became the winner in the category "Youth Media Space: Publication". Finally, Ekaterina Vedmanova, a graduate student of the Institute of State Law and National Security at Baikal State University, won the Grand Prix.
