Vice-Rector for International Relations of BSU Mikhail Kuz’min and Mongolian graduates of the University on October 07 in Ulaanbaatar took part in a meeting of graduates of Russian educational institutions. This event was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the beginning of training of Mongolian youth in Russia and the 50th anniversary of the Mongolian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Educational Institution.

of the Academy of Science of Mongolia and President of the Association «MAVSUZ»
D. Ragdell, President of the Friendship Society «Mongolia-Russia», Hero of
Mongolia and the Soviet Union, Mongolian cosmonaut J. Gurragchaa and other
well-known representatives of association attended the opening ceremony of the
gathering.
With the assistance of the Association of Mongolian Graduates of BSU, more
than 300 graduates of BSU of various years were invited to participate in the
celebrations. A special contribution to the organization of the event for
graduates of BSU was made by graduates of the University of Zandansuren
Oyun-Undrah (1999 graduate, Faculty of Commerce, graduate student of BSU) and
Batdaram Baatar (1984 graduate, Faculty of Engineering and Economics).
Within the conference, Vice-Rector for International Relations Mikhail
Kuz’min made a report to the guests of the event on the role of Baikal State
University in training Mongolian students.
"There is a huge experience of teaching Mongolian students at our university.
In total, over the more than 90-year history of BSU, more than 1,200 highly
qualified specialists, as well as postgraduates and doctoral students have been
trained. Our teachers use their long-term experience to teach new generations of
Mongolian students.
At the same time, the university keep in touch with almost every one of its
foreign graduates, building fruitful work with members of the Alumni
Association, the Mongolian Association of Graduates of Russian Universities and
the Consulate of Mongolia in Irkutsk. We are proud that our good relations with
our Mongolian students, graduates, and friends are mutual and contribute to the
progressive development for each party," Mikhail Kuz’min said.
The conference also discussed many issues related to the popularization of
the Russian language and culture, advanced training of Mongolian teachers,
participation in joint educational projects, as well as the training of highly
qualified managerial personnel in Russia for the financial and economic sector
of Mongolia.
