Since the new academic year, the BSU Scientific Library has been opening a
series of exhibitions "From the fund of the Rector's Reading Room". Already, a
large exhibition of encyclopedias from the Rector's Reading room is presented
for visitors in the lobby near the subscription of educational literature. Among
the publications of the encyclopedia series are "Great Journeys", "Great
Rulers", "Historia rossica", books by foreign publishers Aspen Publishers and
Blackwell Publishing.
"We decided to hold a similar series of exhibitions to attract new visitors
to the Rector's Reading Room, which opened in our library recently. This hall
stores unique publications that I want to tell you about. In addition to the
exhibitions operating in the reading room itself, we will organize "mobile"
exhibitions of literature from the fund of the Rector's Reading Room, which will
be available at all points of the library during the year," says library
Director Irina Sergeevna Minulina.
The Rector's Reading Room opened its doors to readers in the spring of 2022.
Educational literature on legal and economic disciplines, social sciences and
humanities, as well as a rich selection of scientific, rare publications and
encyclopedias are widely presented in the hall. The book storage fund has about
2000 units. In addition, a collection of periodicals is kept and constantly
updated with fresh issues in the Rector's reading room, which today has more
than 160 titles of journals on the profile of the university.
All the literature presented in the hall was transferred to the library from
the personal collection of the Rector of BSU, Professor, Doctor of Law, Honored
Lawyer of the Russian Federation Viktor Vasilyevich Ignatenko.
