Foreign students still choose to study at Baikal State University. Currently, about 400 citizens of other countries study at BSU: more than 300 bachelors, about 50 undergraduates and 5 postgraduates. There is one Colombian and four Chinese citizens studying at the graduate school of BSU. Until last year, students from Latin America had never studied at BSU, and now there are four of them –graduate student from Colombia, two undergraduates and one student of the preparatory faculty from Ecuador.

According to Elena Tikhonova, head of the International department of BSU, if six students from Morocco studied at our university last academic year, then this year there are already fifteen of them. Moreover, only 17 students from this country are going to graduate in Irkutsk. From 2022, for the first time, students from the Republic of Yemen, Malaysia and Equatorial Guinea will study at Baikal State University.
