An excursion to Lake Baikal was organized for foreign students of BSU

Get acquainted with Russian culture and the beauty of the unique lake. Foreign students from the Baikal State University visited Baikal. The Department for International Activities organized for them a trip to the open-air museum "Taltsy" and the village Listvyanka, located on the shore of Lake Baikal.

Taltsy is a collection of wooden architecture of various nations living in Siberia. As a first-year student from China Cao Yucheng said, this is additional knowledge that can be used to write a thesis. The students were also shown the Baikal Astrophysical Observatory, located in Listvyanka.

Baikal University is developing its contacts abroad, every year the number of foreign students grows. The geography of the countries from which applicants come is also expanding.

"I’m fascinated by your city and university. I will be an economist, and will start my own company in Irkutsk," says Meryam Melhab, a first–year student of BSU from Morocco.
