The regional stage of the international competition "Chinese is a bridge" was held on May 12 in a remote format. Its organizers are the Consulate of the People's Republic of China in Irkutsk and the Confucius Institute of the ISU.

The jury members were Chinese teachers from the Confucius Institute of the ISU and Liaoning University. The winner will be able to participate in the All-Russian stage of the competition, and will have the opportunity to receive a grant from the Chinese government to study in China.

Eight students from universities of the Irkutsk region, the Republic of Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory took part in the competition.

The competition consisted of four stages. The first stage was the preparation of a video on the theme "The whole world is one big family". The follow-up stages took place in one day and were evaluated by the jury.

According to the results of the regional stage of the competition, fourth-year student of the International Faculty of Baikal State University Arina Malygina took second place and won in the nomination "The best pronunciation". Next, Arina will defend the honor of the Irkutsk region at the All-Russian stage.
