The traditional annual university-wide event - the spring Student Ball – is going to be on the next Wednesday, June 15, at Baikal State University. According to the head of the Department for work with students of BSU Yulia Arshinskaya, the theme of the ball in 2022 is "The Carnival of Venice". The students suggested this topic.

"This year we held a school for student activists "Point of Growth". One of the lectures of the asset school was held on the topic of organizing events. We gave our students a task to organize a ball. Our department received about 80 applications for participation in various nominations. There will be 12 nominations in total – “Intellect of the Year”, “Creative Personality of the Year”, “Athlete of the Year”, “Public Figure of the Year“, ”Foreign Student of the Year“, ”Elder of the Year“, ”Young Family of the Year“, ”Student Association of the Year“, ”Student Council of the Year", ”Youth Media Space of the year" with sub-nominations, as well as a new nomination “Chairman of the Year of the Council of Students of Institutes, Faculties and Colleges of BSU". And, of course, the main nomination is the Grand Prix "Student of the Year"," Yulia Arshinskaya said.

The largest number of applications (15 people) were submitted for the nomination "Social activist of the Year", so experts found it difficult to determine the winner.

Many applications were submitted for the nomination "Intelligence of the Year", for the nomination "Young student family" – only one application, but is very catchy. Lawyers-undergraduates, engaged in basketball, organized a charity match to help the K9 shelter," Yulia noted.

The event takes place June 15, beginning at 16.00, and the ceremonial part – at 16.30. The BSU Creativity Center will present large solos and dance numbers. The Polonaise dance will open the event. The instrumental ensemble "Expromt", which became a laureate at the All-Russian Student Spring, will perform with creative numbers.

The BSU Student Nutrition Center will not stand aside. Its staff will prepare treats for the event participants and guests. They will hand out juicy pizza. The Department for Work with Students prepared mini-compositions on the theme of the Venetian Carnival.

"The dress code of the ball is provided - a carnival mask. Those who do not have masks with them will be able to use the opportunity to draw a mask element on their face. We have created an expert group for each nomination. Experts have already decided on the winner of each nomination. We will find out their names at the ball. Everyone who wants to attend the event needs to get an invitation card for two persons. You can come to the ball not only with students of the Baikal University, but also invite your friends or relatives," says Yulia Arshinskaya.
