The defense of the final research papers of students of the specialty «Forestry" took place at the Baikal University. Thirty future specialists of the forest fund of the region for several hours presented the members of the State Qualification Committee with the results of their pre–graduate practice, which took place both in the Irkutsk region and abroad - in the jungles of the Republic of the Congo. The youngest foreign researcher presented a scientific study on African topics from BSU – Fred Nguadi.

"There was a big difficulty with the sources, because there were a lot of sources in French, it was necessary to translate, then show the supervisor so that she understood exactly what the author wanted to say and how it could be used in my work," says Fred Nguadi, a fourth–year student at BSU.

Foreign students from ISU and Polytechnic University - friends of the future bachelor – are waiting for the decision of professionals of the forestry industry outside the doors of the classroom. They specifically came to support Fred, but there is no need to worries: Fred's work is greatly appreciated.

As the head of today's protection noted, "Improving the forest management of the rainforests of the Republic of the Congo" is a topic with great scientific potential.

"He had the task to analyze and review all the reports of organizations exploring the forests of Africa, including the Republic of the Congo. Fred's merit is that he picked up quite tough material for analysis, and this formed the basis for writing a bachelor's thesis," says Olga Gorbunova, associate professor of the Department of Sectoral Economics and Natural Resources Management at BSU.

Newly minted bachelors already have clear plans for the future. Someone has received an invitation to work, someone intends to take a break and make a choice between science and production. Fred is not going to stop there. After a short rest, he will again go to the BSU auditorium to get valuable knowledge, but already in the magistracy.
