On April 29, the third annual festival of songs in a foreign language was held at the social cultural and leisure center "Khudozhestvenny". The event is take place to promote foreign languages. Last year, after the next festival, the influx of students entering the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics tripled.

The preparation of the participants began two weeks before the start of the competition. Rehearsals were held daily. Students sang songs in English, French, Ukrainian, Chinese, Buryat and even Gypsy languages. The choice of songs was not limited by any boundaries. Participants could choose a composition to their taste. The audience really enjoyed all participants; they applauded some compositions standing up.

The festival was attended not only by students, but also by Marina Egorova, Associate Professor of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics. Next year, the organizers plan to bring the festival to the intercollegiate level, as well as invite foreign students to participate.
