In order to develop productive cooperation, the International department of
BSU organized a working meeting with the administration of the University of
Finance and Economics, Mongolia.
On behalf of the rector of the Baikal State University Viktor Ignatenko and
on his own behalf, Vice-Rector for International Relations Mikhail Kuz’min
welcomed colleagues. During his speech, he spoke in detail about the part of BSU
in the development of Russian-Mongolian relations and the training of
specialists for the public and financial sector of Mongolia.
"More than 1,000 highly qualified specialists, as well as postgraduates and
doctoral students have been trained at our university. In different times, 10
graduates of BSU worked as finance ministers of Mongolia, and 5 graduates were
the heads of the Central Bank of Mongolia. Since the Mongolian direction is one
of the priorities for us, we are interested in developing comprehensive
cooperation with of Mongolian University of Finance and Economics", Mikhail
Kuz’min noticed.
The first Vice-Rector of the University of Finance and Economics, Mr.
Batkhuyag Zhamyandorzh, and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Ms. Ankhtuya
Dorzhsuren, made a speech in response. They stressed the importance of signing
an agreement on cooperation between universities, as well as the opportunities
for scientific and educational cooperation in the field of law, economics and
management.
"Since our universities are almost identical in profile and areas of
training, this holds great promise in the implementation of projects of high
importance for our cities and countries," Mr. Batkhuyag Zhamyandorzh mentioned.
During the meeting, members of the Russian and Mongolian sides presented
educational programs of interest from a perspective of their further joint
implementation.
As a result, the directions within which work will carry out on the
development of new double degree programs in English and Russian identified.
These areas include "Management", "Accounting" and "Tourism".
The parties also agreed on the creation of joint research teams to
participate in international grant competitions, joint participation in academic
mobility programs for students and teacher exchanges.
