BSU signed a cooperation agreement with Beijing Information Science & Technology University

Baikal State University signed online a cooperation agreement with Beijing Information Science and Technology University (BISTU) on December 17.

On the Russian side, the meeting was attended by Rector of BSU, VIktor V. Ignatenko; Vice-Rector for International Relations, Mikhail P. Kuz'min; Head of International Relations Department, Elena V. Tikhonova; Dean of the International Faculty, Anna M. Litovkina; Director of the Institute of Culture, Social Communications and Information Technology, Andrey A. Atanov; Associate Professor of Russian Language and Intercultural Communication Department, and translator Piao Meishan.

BISTU is one of the key universities in Information Technology and related sciences in Beijing. It attracts outstanding people from all over the world, with students from more than 30 countries and regions studying applied professions at the highest level. There are 39 Bachelor's degree programs and 51 Master's degree programs in Engineering, Management, Science, Economics and Literature, as well as various language programs, including the programs for international students. The university trains a skilled staff with international competitiveness.

Professor Wang Yongsheng, President of BISTU, welcomed the conference attendees: "China and Russia are major neighbours, friends and partners. Interaction between our countries is maintained at the highest level, it is important for the development of bilateral relations, that meets the fundamental interests of our peoples and contributes to the preservation of peace, security and stability. My colleagues and I express our deep gratitude and interest in effective cooperation between our universities. And we invite Victor Vasilyevich personally to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the anniversary of our university the next year".

In his response, Victor V. Ignatenko, Rector of BSU, noted that despite the difficult global situation, Russia and China continue to develop their effective cooperation: "As China is the main partner for our university, we consider the signing of cooperation agreement with BISTU as an important event in our international activities. BSU is one of Russia's leading universities in Law, Economics and Management. It ranks among the top economic and law schools in Russia, and is a member of such prestigious international associations as the Euroasian Universities Association (EUA), the University Alliance of the Silk Road, Association of Sino-Russian Economic Universities and many others. The signing of this agreement will allow us to cooperate in the field of educational and scientific activities".
