Pyongyang hosts the II Forum of Rectors of Universities of Russia and the
DPRK, which brings together representatives of more than 70 leading higher
educational institutions of the two countries. BSU at the international site is
represented by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elena Foigel and and. about.
Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities Lyudmila Sanina.
The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher
Education of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky. Within the framework
of the forum, the most important intergovernmental agreement was signed on the
mutual recognition of education, qualifications and academic degrees aimed at
developing long-term academic mobility.
"The document will not only ensure the development of mobility, but also
strengthen direct ties between universities," said Konstantin Mogilevsky. -
Without additional barriers, the launch of joint educational and scientific
projects will become easier. Exchanges between teachers and young researchers
will grow."
The main topics of the negotiations and round tables of the Forum were the
training of highly qualified personnel, in-depth study of Russian and Korean
languages, as well as the design of joint educational programs. In addition,
several strategic intercollegiate agreements were concluded on the sidelines of
the forum. It is planned that the next, III Forum of Rectors of Russian and
Korean Universities, will be held next year in Russia.
