BSU Rector Professor Oleg Gribunov and Dean of the International Faculty Anna Litovkina attended a diplomatic reception on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the proclamation of the People's Republic of China. The official event, timed to coincide with the creation of the PRC in 1949, was organized by the Consulate General of the PRC in Irkutsk. The meeting brought together the leaders of the region, representatives of the diplomatic corps, business, science and education.

Oleg Gribunov emphasized the special importance of strengthening friendly ties between Russia and China, noting the leading role of universities in the development of this dialogue.

"From the entire team of BSU, I sincerely welcome the participants of this significant event," said Oleg Pavlovich. "I want to emphasize that the People's Republic of China is a strategic partner of our university. Students from the PRC make up the largest share of all foreign students studying at BSU. We sincerely wish prosperity to the friendly state and will continue to actively develop joint academic projects."

A creative gift for the participants of the evening was a dance number prepared by students of the International Faculty of BSU.
