Today, the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IRVECA KAON) and the Baikal State University signed a cooperation agreement. The signatures on the document were put by the rector of BSU Oleg Gribunov and the secretary of the party committee of IRVEC KAON Mr. Van Lei.

The representative delegation included leaders and researchers from the research departments of the Russian economy, Russian politics, sociology and culture, and the Academy of Chinese Modernization of the KAON.

"We are very pleased to meet again and open up new perspectives between our organisations. "This is especially true in the cross years of education in Russia and China, which were announced in 2026-2027 by the decision of the leaders of Russia and China," said Oleg Pavlovich.

The parties discussed the direction of cooperation in the field of science. We agreed on the participation and joint holding of scientific and practical conferences, which will soon be held at Baikal University, on joint publications in the journal Russian-Chinese Studies, and discussed possible financial support for young scientists from both countries and their participation in grants.
