The rector and the staff of the Baikal State University received a letter of thanks from the Consul General of Mongolia in Irkutsk, Mrs. Batsukh Ichinkhorloo. The head of the diplomatic mission noted the high professional level of the international conference held at the university on May 27, 2026. In her opinion, the scientific forum became a significant event aimed at strengthening friendly relations, preserving historical memory, and developing humanitarian cooperation between Mongolia and Russia.

BSU Rector Oleg Gribunov stressed: "June 7, 2026 marks exactly 55 years since the founding of the country's first Consulate General of Mongolia in our city. During this time, 15 leaders of the diplomatic mission were replaced in Irkutsk, and each made an invaluable personal contribution to the development of the capital of the Angara region as the most important center of Russian-Mongolian relations.

Irkutsk universities, and primarily BSU, have become the home of thousands of Mongolian students, who now make up the management and economic elite of their homeland. Today, under the leadership of Ms Batsukh Ichinhorloo, the consulate continues to be the main bridge of friendship between our peoples.
