Fifth-year students of the Institute of World Economy and International
Relations of Baikal State University Bair Zabanov, Van Alina Shievna and Tatyana
Pilkevich successfully confirmed a high level of Chinese proficiency by passing
the international HSK4 exam.
The exam was held on the basis of the Confucius Institute in Irkutsk, located
in the Scientific Library. V. G. Rasputin. HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is an
international Chinese language exam designed to confirm the proficiency of
Chinese among foreign nationals.
The HSK system includes six main levels as well as additional advanced levels
(7-9). The HSK4 level certificate opens up wide educational and professional
opportunities: it allows you to enter universities in China, including
undergraduate programs, apply for grants and scholarships, and also find jobs in
companies that cooperate with China.
Tatiana Pilkevich, a student of Translation and Translation Studies, shared
her future plans: "I plan to enter language courses, improve my Chinese language
skills to HSK5, and then take part in grant programs for studying in China."
Irina Zyryanova, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied
Linguistics, congratulated the graduates on a worthy result: "We wish you new
successes in your future studies and future career! Confirmation of the
international level of Chinese proficiency is an important step in the
professional development of future translators and an indicator of the high
level of training of BSU students."
The successful passing of the international exam confirms the high level of
training of BSU translation students and their readiness for academic and
professional activities in the international environment.
