Dear veterans, dear colleagues and students of Baikal State University!
I sincerely congratulate you on the most sacred holiday of our people - Great
Victory Day!
May 9 is a date in which pride in the unparalleled feat of heroes and deep
sorrow for millions of lives cut short merged together. For our university, this
day is of particular importance: we remember about every teacher and student who
went to the front, and about those who fought for the lives of fighters within
the walls of the BSU, turned into an evacuation hospital.
Generational continuity is where our society stands. Special words of
gratitude and low bow today - to our dear veterans and children of war. Your
steadfastness and vital wisdom are the main moral guideline for us. Our
responsibility is to surround you with attention and care, not only on holidays,
but every moment.
I appeal to our students. Today it is you who are the main conductors of
memory. In an era when historical facts are questioned, it is you who have to
bear the true story about the feat of our people in the future. Be worthy of the
memory of your great-grandfathers, keep their covenants and pass on the truth to
the next generations.
I wish our team, every family good health, warmth and the most valuable - a
peaceful and clear sky overhead!
Happy Holiday! Happy Great Victory Day!
