International Students of International Studies explore Russian traditional culture

Thematic meetings dedicated to traditional Russian culture and folk arts and crafts of Russia were held at the Department of International Studies. Foreign students studying at the Department of Russian Language and Intercultural Communication study not only Russian language, but also Russian literature and culture.

At the meetings, Chinese students talked about Russian traditional culture and presented reports on Russian arts and crafts. The students could not only see but also “touch” the products of Russian folk arts and crafts: take apart a Russian samovar and look inside to find out what is inside, put Pavlovoposad shawls with bright colors on their shoulders, hold in their hands golden Khokhloma - painted cups and spoons, examine the ornaments of Gzheli - blue and white Russian porcelain, the symbol of Russian winter.

Matryoshka doll - “Russian souvenir No. 1”, as students learned from the text “Russian Souvenir: from Russia with love...” - aroused special interest. It was fun to open a big matryoshka “mother” and find out how many little matryoshka “daughters” she has inside. And once again to think and talk about why the matryoshka doll is a symbol of the “mysterious Russian soul”, the secret of the soul of the people, the soul of each person.

Russian souvenirs could not only be examined, held in your hands, but also tasted. Literally, actually taste, bite, eat... Yes, there are such amazing Russian souvenirs as well - dried goods, bagels, baranki.

Students took a lot of pictures and took pictures to send their photos to their parents and friends in China. To China from BSU with love.
