On January 25, four students of Baikal State University were rewarded with an 
honorable award - a personal scholarship of the head of the Irkutsk region. 
Among 70 scholarship holders of Irkutsk universities, BSU students attended the 
awarding ceremony in the Government of the region, where the Governor personally 
handed them diplomas. 
                                
BSU students Egor Grigoriev, Veronika Baldanova, Mikhail Lubyagin and 
Kristina Buniatishvili received the honorary award. The Governor's scholarship 
is awarded to those who win Olympiads, participate in conferences, receive 
grants and publish scientific articles. In their speech of gratitude students of 
Baikal State University noted the role of the university in popularization of 
science and first achievements. They promised to continue active work. 
The scholarship holders of the university with this merit was congratulated 
by the First Vice-Rector - Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Oleg Gribunov. He 
noted that the students who received the Governor's scholarship are the elite of 
the Irkutsk region. According to him, the youth of the region have the right 
guidelines and aspirations. 
Governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev promised that in the next year, 
2025, new conditions await the scholarship holders. 
"We will form distinctive signs. Let it be in the form of some kind of 
gratitude, or a badge, or a statuette. We have added two nominations today: the 
"Experts' Prize" and the "Audience Award". This will be an online voting. This 
form will be the most interesting for the students themselves," said the head of 
the region. He also congratulated the students on the holiday and wished them 
not to stop on their achievements.
