3rd year International Relations students Daria Kharitonova, Sofia Kolyaka
and Anastasia Osina participated in the round table "The Role of Russia and
BRICS+ Countries in Strengthening the Multipolar World" held at IRNITU. The
event was attended by representatives of 14 countries: Russia, India, Belarus,
China, Malaysia, South Africa, Algeria, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Zambia, Myanmar,
Nepal, Republic of Cameroon, Somalia, Venezuela. The goal of the event is to
develop friendly relations between representatives of Russian regions and
foreign citizens from BRICS+ countries, and to promote traditional Russian
spiritual and moral values.

The organizers of such a representative round table were the Youth Assembly
of the Peoples of Russia "WE ARE RUSSIANS", the Coordination Center for the
formation of active citizenship among young people and the Indian Center for
Assistance to International Initiatives (India).
During the event were presented reports on the topics of economic, political,
cultural and social interaction between the participating countries.
International Relations student Daria Kharitonova presented a paper on the
prospects of creating a single currency in the BRICS countries.
The organizers noted that the roundtable in Irkutsk in 2024 was the first
such event where participants were able to exchange views and ideas on the
prospects for cooperation between the countries. Such events are especially
important since the Russian Federation is the BRICS Chair country in 2024.
As one of the roundtable participants, Darya Kharitonova, noted, this format
of the event helped student youth not only to obtain relevant information, but
also to ask questions to experts from around the world.
