Delegation of the University of Shanxi Province was welcomed at BSU

Vice-Rector for International Relations of BSU Mikhail Kuz’min, Dean of BSU International Faculty Anna Litovkina and Head of BSU International Relation Department Elena Tikhonova met today with the delegation of Financial and Economic University of Shanxi Province of the People's Republic of China, headed by the head of the group of study abroad, Mr. Huang Zhifu.

"Shanxi University of Finance and Economics", is located in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. It was selected as the national "Central and Western Region Universities Basic Capacity Building Project" in Shanxi Province. It has 1,741 faculty members, including 1,220 full-time teachers, 17,368 students, 4,371 graduate students, 199 doctoral students, 15,519 continuing education students and 41 international students.

The Chinese delegation was interested in the enrollment of their students in BSU undergraduate programs after preparatory Russian language training. To achieve this goal, possible models for organizing training at the BSU preparatory faculty were considered: such as face-to-face and distance learning, sending Russian language teachers to train students of Shangxi University of Finance and Economics directly in China, as well as organizing a joint preparatory faculty.

The delegation of the Chinese university expressed special interest in cooperation with BSU in the development of dual degree programs, academic mobility of students and teachers, as well as joint scientific and educational events.

After the meeting, Vice-Rector for BSU International Relation Mikhail Kuz’min gave the delegation a detailed tour of the university, including a demonstration of classrooms, library reading rooms, as well as TV and radio studio of BSU Media Center.

The parties agreed to sign a cooperation agreement and an agreement on joint training of students in Russian language for further enrollment in BSU in the nearest future.
