Bachelors and Masters students of the International Relations on the initiative of Alena Raspopina, Associate Professor of the International Relations and Customs Department, and Inga Yeritsyan, Senior Lecturer, visited the Irkutsk Regional Historical and Memorial Museum of the Trubetskys. Immersion in the world of culture of the XIX century allows to develop in students a sense of involvement and respect for the past, to form cultural and historical interests, to create a special educational environment, allowing to get additional knowledge about the history of the region.
The students shared their impressions of the museum visit:
Huang Yuxing: "Visiting museums is a very meaningful activity. Besides gaining knowledge, it is also very useful for teachers and students to get to know each other better. The teachers Alyona Alexandrovna and Inga Nelsikovna and the lecturer explained the history of the Decembrists to the students in a very professional and detailed way. The importance of visiting historical museums for international students studying international relations is very great. As a foreigner, in addition to studying our specialty, we need to get acquainted with local history, learn more about the large Siberian region. Slavic civilization is an important part of world history, and Russia's position in modern international relations is crucial. Russia has achieved what it has today and its history is fascinating to study."
Yuliana Maslakova: "The Trubetskoy House-Museum is an incredible place, stepping over the threshold of which you can get into the 19th century and feel the atmosphere of that time. Although the house has undergone a lot of restorations, it still has a special energy. We learned a lot about the life of the Decembrists in Siberia. We also heard about a beautiful story of love and sacrifice.
